In the Year 2090, human civilisation has advanced into a technologically-driven one. The country was governed by the Council in the pursuit for scientific advancement.

The people were divided into 6 districts, each with a specialisation. Rumors were that there used to be a 7th faction that dealt with human experimentation, however, after a certain event, that faction was now no more, and human-subjects were declared taboo.

After the death of the Ruler, a tournament was declared to decide the next Head of Research from among the 6 factions. The journey is a strenuous one with many challenges and betrayals.

URSA
With the outlaw of human testing since the fall of Patopia, Ursa's expertise on animals have been essential in keeping The Council at the forefront of biological advancements. With the deep understanding of life's biomechanics and the help of their animal companions, the Ursa Warriors protect ASCENSION from adversaries that threaten the peace created by The Council.

DAEDALUS
Daedelus are known for their ability to discern the tiniest of details - nothing escapes their eyes. As natural-born innovators and masters of their craft, they provide essential equipment for The Council's experiments. Nobody else possesses the natural flair to wield these tools as formidably as those Daedelus-born.

ICARUS
Ambitious - a word commonly associated with those from Icarus. Genetic engineering has led to Icarus being the most intelligent of factions, so it is no wonder that The Council works hand-in-hand with them in many aspects of lives, such as creating a sustainable food supply. Unravelling secrets in the genetic code, they believe that the potentials of the human body is only limited to imagination. However, they are warned not to be over zealous lest they fly too close to the sun..

EMRYS
One with nature, Emrys have extensive knowledge on all plant life on ASCENSION. Able to distil the essence of the vegetation, Emrys formulates potions that enhances the human's abilities, imbuing those who drink from the cornucopia with strength and wit beyond imaginable. Such temporary amplifications had helped The Council in various operations over the years.
Botany and Pharmacology
NOCTIS
Not much is known about Noctis, but the faction's contributions to The Council are invaluable. When the mutiny began before the doings of Patopia become illegal, The Council utilized Noctis' technology and expertise to.. persuade the people to heed the calls of The Council. Some say Noctis is the reason for the unprecedented long-lasting peace in ASCENSION.
Neurobiology and Behavioural Studies
THESEUS
Fascinated with the idea of eternal life, Theseus are constantly in search of technologies to manipulate life force and achieve immortality. Hidden away in the tundras, their research attempts to extend the esteemed lives of The Council, in order to preserve their knowledge and leadership. Rumour has it that Theseus are beginning to unlock the secrets of cryopreservation, though it has neither been proven nor publicly announced.
